To advance to the championship game, Warkentin won 8-7 over Nick Dawson (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) in the semifinals of the 2013 Northern Ontario Jr. Men's Provincial in Kapuskasing, Ontario;
 
Warkentin finished 5-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Warkentin defeated Cody Tetreault (Thessalon, ON) 9-7, then won 7-6 against Dawson. Warkentin went on to lose 7-1 against Byrd. Warkentin responded with a 11-7 win over Jay Turner (Aitokan, ON). Warkentin won 8-6 against Brennan Wark (Thunder Bay, ON). Warkentin went on to lose 9-5 against Connor Lawes (North Bay, ON). Warkentin responded with a 6-5 win over Tanner Horgan (Sudbury, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
