After advancing directly to the championship game, Torkil Svensgaard (Hvidovre, DEN) lost 7-2 to Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN) in the Final of the Danish Curling Championships, held February 14 - March 2, 2013 in Esbjerg, Denmark.
 
Svensgaard finished 6-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Svensgaard defeated Bent Kristoffersen (Hvidovre, DEN) 4-3, then won 5-4 against Mikkel Krause (Hvidovre, DEN) and 8-2 against Bo Jensen (Hvidovre, DEN). Svensgaard went on to lose 6-3 against Soren Birch (Hvidovre, DEN). Svensgaard responded with a 9-1 win over Tommy Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN). Svensgaard won 6-2 against Stjerne, then won 9-4 against Mikkel Sand (Hvidovre, DEN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Danish Curling Championships, Svensgaard take home 2.500 world rankings points, moving up 21 spots the World Ranking Standings into 129th place overall with 10.550 total points. Svensgaard ranks 87th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 10.550 points earned so far this season.
