Laycock lost 6-5 to Brian Adams Jr. (Thunder Bay, ON) where Laycock responded with a 7-2 win over Jack McDonald (Winnipeg, MB). Laycock went on to lose 5-2 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
