Howard finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Howard defeated Jared Kolomaya (Stonewall, MB) 7-2, then went on to lose 5-3 against Brock Virtue (Regina, SK). Howard responded with a 6-4 win over John Epping (Toronto, ON). Howard won 6-1 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE), then won 7-0 against Brian Adams Jr. (Thunder Bay, ON) and 6-5 against John Shuster (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Canad Inns Prairie Classic, Howard take home 25.000 world rankings points along with the $10,000CDN prize, remaining in 3rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 308.530 total points. Howard ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 75.000 points earned so far this season.
