Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) won 6-2 over Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON) in the Final of the Canad Inns Prairie Classic, held October 18 - 21, 2013 at the Portage Curling Club in Portage La Prairie, Canada. To advance to the championship game, McEwen won 6-5 over Brock Virtue (Regina, SK) in the semifinals of the 2013 Canad Inns Prairie Classic in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada; and won 6-3 over Jeff Stoughton (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2013 Canad Inns Prairie Classic in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada;
 
McEwen finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McEwen defeated Brian Adams Jr. (Thunder Bay, ON) 7-6, then won 6-5 against Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) and 7-2 against John Morris (Vernon, BC). McEwen won 8-3 against Virtue in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Canad Inns Prairie Classic Championship title, McEwen earned 40.000 world rankings points along with the $18,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 5th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 285.060 total points. McEwen ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 87.500 points earned so far this season.
