In their opening game, Virtue defeated Ryan Hyde (Portage la Prairie, MB) 8-2, then won 5-3 against Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON) and 6-1 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON). Virtue went on to lose 8-3 against McEwen. Virtue lost 7-6 to Kean where Virtue responded with a 7-3 win over Jared Kolomaya (Stonewall, MB). Virtue won 8-7 against Oskar Eriksson (Lit, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
