DeJong finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, DeJong defeated Lisa Eyamie (Grande Prairie, AB) 8-3, then won 8-5 against Chana Martineau (Edmonton, AB). DeJong went on to lose 8-2 against Yilun Jiang (Harbin, CHN). DeJong lost 7-0 to Bingyu Wang (Harbin, CHN) where DeJong responded with a 7-5 win over Nicky Kaufman (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
