Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) lost 6-3 to Chang-Min Kim (Gyeongbuk Uiseong, KOR) in the Final of the Kariuzawa International, held April 18 - 21, 2013 in Kariuzawa, Japan.
 
Morozumi finished 5-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morozumi defeated Peter De Boer (Naseby, NZ) 5-4, then won 7-4 against Yoshihiro Sakaguchi (Obihiro, JPN) and 10-0 against Hideaki Nakamura (Okayama, JPN). Morozumi won 14-1 against Nagao Tsuchiya (Kariuzawa, JPN), then won 7-2 against Binjiang Wang (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Kariuzawa International, Morozumi take home 7.500 world rankings points along with the $2,595CDN prize, moving up 13 spots the World Ranking Standings into 59th place overall with 34.430 total points. Morozumi ranks 51st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 22.250 points earned so far this season.
