In their opening game, Gushue defeated Jean-Michel Menard (Gatineau, PQ) 9-5, then won 10-4 against Jake Higgs (Glencoe, ON). Gushue went on to lose 8-3 against John Morris (Vernon, BC). Gushue lost 9-3 to Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) where Gushue responded with a 11-4 win over Higgs. Gushue won 10-4 against Greg Balsdon (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Gushue earned 16.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Capital One Road to the Roar, remaining in 7th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 265.605 total points. Gushue ranks 4th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 117.980 points earned so far this season.
