Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) won 10-3 over Peter De Boer (Naseby, NZ) in the Final Morozumi advanced directly to the championship game after finishing first in the preliminary round. of the Winter Games New Zealand, held August 16 - 23, 2013 in Naseby, New Zealand.
 
Morozumi finished 8-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morozumi defeated Hugh Millikin (Sydney, AUS) 9-3, then went on to lose 6-4 against Korea's Soo Hyuk Kim. Morozumi lost 9-8 to De Boer where Morozumi responded with a 13-5 win over Hans Frauenlob (Naseby, NZ). Morozumi won 10-7 against Dejia Zou (Harbin, CHN), then won 9-7 against De Boer and 8-4 against Korea's Soo Hyuk Kim. Morozumi won 7-5 against Zou, then won 8-3 against Millikin and 9-2 against Frauenlob in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Winter Games New Zealand Championship title, Morozumi earned 11.250 world rankings points, moving up 15 spots the World Ranking Standings into 32nd place overall with 33.500 total points. Morozumi ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.250 points earned so far this season.
