Tomi Rantamaki (Helsinki, FIN) qualified for the 2013 Edinburgh International playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 4-3 against Grant Hardie (Dumfries, SCO). of the 2013 Edinburgh International in Edinburgh, Scotland, Scotland;

Rantamaki finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Rantamaki defeated Johnny Jahr (Fuessen, GER) 5-2, then won 5-3 against Warwick Smith (Perth, SCO). Rantamaki went on to lose 7-6 against Graham Shaw (Perth, SCO). Rantamaki responded with a 6-2 win over Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED). Rantamaki won 5-3 against Maciej Cesarz (Katowice, POL) in their final qualifying round match.
