Grant Hardie (Dumfries, SCO) qualified for the 2014 German Masters playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-3 against Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI). of the 2014 German Masters in Hamburg, Germany;

Hardie finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hardie defeated Marc Pfister (Bern, SUI) 6-3, then won 4-2 against Oskar Eriksson (Lit, SWE) and 4-3 against Alexey Tselousov (St. Petersburg, RUS). Hardie went on to lose 4-3 against Torkil Svensgaard (Hoje-Taastrup, DEN) in their final qualifying round match.

Hardie earned 4.920 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the German Masters, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 33rd place overall with 56.623 total points. Hardie ranks 34th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 26.728 points earned so far this season.
