James Grattan (Oromocto, NB) lost 6-3 to Peter Burgess (Truro, NS) in the Final of the Curl Atlantic Championship, held September 12 - 15, 2013 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. To advance to the championship game, Grattan won 6-3 over Marc LeCocq (Moncton, NB) in the semifinals
 
Grattan finished 5-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Grattan defeated Jamie Newson (Charlottetown, PEI) 8-4, then won 6-2 against Burgess and 8-6 against Rod MacDonald (Charlottetown, PEI). Grattan won 8-4 against Mark Dacey (Halifax, NS), then won 8-2 against Zack Eldridge (Oromocto, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Curl Atlantic Championship, Grattan take home 3.675 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN prize, moving up 7 spots the World Ranking Standings into 51st place overall with 21.050 total points. Grattan ranks 33rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.675 points earned so far this season.
