Bottcher won 7-6 against Chang-Min Kim (Uiseong, KOR), then won 7-1 against Italy's Marco Pascale and 8-5 against Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE). Bottcher went on to lose 10-3 against Christopher Plys (St. Paul, USA). Bottcher lost 9-5 to Mario Freiberger (Zug, SUI) where Bottcher responded with a 10-3 win over Oskar Eriksson (Lit, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
