In their opening game, Lawton defeated Jill Shumay (Maidstone, SK) 5-3, then won 9-6 against Trish Paulsen (Saskatoon, SK) and 8-4 against Ros Stewart (Saskatoon, SK). Lawton won 8-2 against Teandra Friesen (Saskatoon, SK), then won 7-5 against Jolene Campbell (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Saskatchewan Scotties Championship title, Lawton earned 11.360 world rankings points, remaining in 4th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 295.560 total points. Lawton ranks 9th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 94.360 points earned so far this season.
