Smith won 5-4 against Mary-Anne Arsenault (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Nova Scotia Scotties Championship title, Smith earned 4.000 world rankings points, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 52nd place overall with 24.754 total points. Smith ranks 40th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 19.850 points earned so far this season.
