In their opening game, Mallett defeated Heather Tyre (Kelowna, BC) 7-4, then won 8-6 against Tracey Jones (Prince George, BC). Mallett went on to lose 6-4 against Amy Gibson (Vancouver, BC). Mallett responded with a 8-5 win over Jones in their final qualifying round match.
