Jacobs won 8-6 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA), then won 9-8 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Olympic Winter Games Championship title, Jacobs earned 50.000 world rankings points, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 40.575 after improving upon their best so far this season.
