In their opening game, Gordon defeated Steve Meunier (Timmins, NONT) 8-3, then went on to lose 6-4 against Dan Lemieux (Sault Ste Marie, ON). Gordon responded with a 7-3 win over Chris Glibota (Sault Ste Marie, NONT). Gordon won 8-5 against Patrick Gelinas (Sudbury, NONT), then won 8-1 against Trevor Bonot (Thunder Bay, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
