Lori Karst (Madison, WI) needed a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs, Karst finished 5-4 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Karst defeated Ann Drummie (Potomac, MD) 10-4, then won 10-1 against Tracy Heuermann (Tempe, AZ). Karst went on to lose 8-4 against Ann Podoll (Fargo, ND). Karst responded with a 8-6 win over Miyo Konno (Monroe, WA). Karst went on to lose 11-3 against Beth Bohlman (Grand Forks, ND). Karst lost 8-5 to Jennifer Paine (Columbus, OH) where Karst responded with a 9-5 win over Sarah Walsh (Oakland, CA). Karst went on to lose 10-9 against Norma O'Leary (Duluth, MN). Karst responded with a 12-5 win over Jamie Kraus (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week of the event schedule, Karst did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Karst ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
