Craig Brown (Madison, WI) lost 9-3 to Pete Fenson (Bemidji, MN) in the Final of the USA National Championship, held March 1 - 8, 2014 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Brown finished 7-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brown lost 7-2 to Fenson, then responded with a 9-2 win over Heath McCormick (Duluth, MN). Brown won 7-1 against Alex Leichter (Rochester, NY). Brown went on to lose 7-3 against Brady Clark (Seattle, WA). Brown responded with a 10-4 win over Peter Stolt (St. Paul, MN). Brown won 8-7 against Paul Pustovar (Duluth, MN), then won 6-2 against Tyler George (New York, NY) and 6-5 against Eric Fenson (Bemidji, MN). Brown won 7-5 against John Shuster (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the USA National Championship, Brown take home 35.000 world rankings points, moving up 17 spots the World Ranking Standings into 34th place overall with 71.259 total points. Brown ranks 24th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 56.665 points earned so far this season.
