To advance to the championship game, Epping won 3-2 over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) in the semifinals of the 2014 Point Optical Curling Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 7-4 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the quarterfinals. of the 2014 Point Optical Curling Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada;
 
Epping finished 5-2 in the 26-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Epping defeated Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB) 6-3, then won 8-4 against Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI). Epping went on to lose 5-3 against Jacobs. Epping responded with a 8-5 win over Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB). Epping went on to lose 4-3 against Edin. Epping responded with a 8-3 win over Christopher Plys (Blaine, USA). Epping won 5-2 against Sluchinski in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Point Optical Curling Classic, Epping take home 25.000 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN prize, remaining in 10th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 141.319 total points. Epping ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 67.500 points earned so far this season.
