To advance to the championship game, Middaugh won 7-6 over Aileen Sormunen (Blaine, USA) in the semifinals of the 2014 Colonial Square Ladies Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 6-5 over Jill Thurston (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2014 Colonial Square Ladies Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada;
 
Middaugh finished 5-2 in the 31-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Middaugh defeated Suji Kim (Seoul, KOR) 7-2, then won 7-4 against Jessica Hanson (Saskatoon, SK). Middaugh went on to lose 6-5 against Sherry Anderson (Saskatoon, SK). Middaugh responded with a 6-5 win over Chantelle Eberle (Regina, SK). Middaugh won 8-4 against Heather Strong (St. John's, NL). Middaugh went on to lose 6-5 against Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE). Middaugh responded with a 6-5 win over Nina Roth (Blaine, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Colonial Square Ladies Classic, Middaugh take home 27.000 world rankings points along with the $9,000CDN prize, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 7th place overall with 179.100 total points.
