Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) won 7-6 over Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in the Final of the HDF Insurance Shoot-Out, held September 11 - 14, 2014 in Edmonton, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Bottcher won 4-3 over James Pahl (Sherwood Park, AB) in the semifinals of the 2014 HDF Insurance Shoot-Out in Edmonton, Alberta; and won 6-4 over Mick Lizmore (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2014 HDF Insurance Shoot-Out in Edmonton, Alberta;
 
Bottcher finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bottcher defeated Shawn Donnelly (Edmonton, AB) 4-1, then won 5-3 against Brock Virtue (Calgary, AB). Bottcher went on to lose 5-3 against Jamie King (Edmonton, AB). Bottcher lost 5-2 to Virtue where Bottcher responded with a 7-0 win over Donnelly in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the HDF Insurance Shoot-Out Championship title, Bottcher earned 10.550 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 22nd place overall with 44.179 total points. Bottcher ranks 12th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 10.550 points earned so far this season.
