Balsdon went on to lose 8-5 against Ontario's Nick Rizzo. Balsdon responded with a 9-8 win over Ontario's Nathan Martin in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Glendale Cash Spiel Championship title, Balsdon earned 4.500 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 22nd place overall with 71.350 total points. Balsdon ranks 44th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 9.700 points earned so far this season.
