Soo-Hyuk Kim (Gang Won, KOR) won 4-2 over Daylan Vavrek (Sexsmith, AB) in the Final of the Avonair Cash Spiel, held October 3 - 5, 2014 at the Avonair Curling Club in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Kim won 7-1 over Wade White (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2014 Avonair Cash Spiel in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and won 6-2 over Glen Hansen (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2014 Avonair Cash Spiel in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;

Kim finished 3-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim defeated Mike Hutchings (Morinville, AB) 7-3, then won 6-5 against Thomas Usselman (Calgary, AB) and 3-2 against Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Avonair Cash Spiel Championship title, Kim earned 3.000 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 44th place overall with 26.333 total points. Kim ranks 51st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.000 points earned so far this season.
