To advance to the championship game, Kim won 4-2 over Curtis Harrish (Calmar, AB) in the semifinals
 
Kim finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim defeated Dale Fellows (Edmonton, AB) 8-4, then won 7-5 against Thomas Scoffin (Edmonton, AB). Kim went on to lose 5-1 against Harrish in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Spruce Grove Cashspiel Championship title, Kim earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $1,050CDN first prize cheque. For week 13 of the event schedule, Kim did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 197th to 200th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 3.225 total points. Kim ranks 119th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.225 points earned so far this season.
