Grassie finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Grassie defeated Kelly Lauber (Winnipeg, MB) 8-3, then went on to lose 6-5 against Trevor Loreth (Winnipeg, MB). Grassie responded with a 8-6 win over Steen Sigurdson (Winnipeg, MB). Grassie won 8-0 against William Kuran (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
