Lewis finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lewis defeated Howard Rajala (Ottawa, ON) 6-5, then went on to lose 8-6 against Colin Dow (Ottawa, ON). Lewis responded with a 7-3 win over Ghyslain Richard (Quebec, QC) in their final qualifying round match.
