Drew Heidt (Kindersley, SK) finished 2-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Heidt defeated Ryan Skjerdal (Weyburn, SK) 6-2, then went on to lose 7-5 against Randy Bryden (Regina, SK). Heidt lost 5-2 to Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) where Heidt responded with a 7-2 win over Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK). Heidt went on to lose 9-4 against Clint Dieno (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
