Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) won 6-3 over Brent Pierce (Kelowna , BC) in the Final of the Weatherford Curling Classic, held November 28 - December 1, 2014 at the Estevan Curling Club in Estevan, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Laycock won 5-3 over Randy Bryden (Regina, SK) in the semifinals of the 2014 Weatherford Curling Classic in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 8-6 over Brent Gedak (Estevan, SK) in the quarterfinals.
 
Laycock finished 3-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laycock lost 6-3 to Gedak, then responded with a 5-2 win over Drew Heidt (Kindersley, SK). Laycock went on to lose 5-3 against Pierce. Laycock responded with a 8-2 win over Jeff Mosley (Estevan, SK). Laycock won 8-2 against Josh Heidt (Kerrobert, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Weatherford Curling Classic Championship title, Laycock earned 9.000 world rankings points along with the $10,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 10th place overall with 181.382 total points. Laycock ranks 9th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 82.232 points earned so far this season.
