Melanie Barbezat (Biel, SUI) won 6-4 over Gina Aitken (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the Dumfries Curling Challenge, held December 19 - 21, 2014 in Dumfries, Scotland.
 
Barbezat finished 3-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Barbezat defeated Scotland's Jennifer Martin 9-2, then won 8-3 against Aitken and 7-2 against Lauren Gray (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Dumfries Curling Challenge Championship title, Barbezat earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $2,175CDN first prize cheque. For week 17 of the event schedule, Barbezat did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 66th to 68th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 16.481 total points. Barbezat ranks 165th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 0.665 points earned so far this season.
