Evgeniy Arkhipov (Moscow, RUS) finished 5-4 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Arkhipov lost 6-5 to Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI), droppimg another game, 8-1 to Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) where Arkhipov responded with a 6-5 win over Joel Retornaz (Cortina d'Ampezzo, ITA). Arkhipov won 6-4 against Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER), then won 8-6 against Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN). Arkhipov went on to lose 7-4 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Arkhipov responded with a 6-5 win over David Edwards (Aberdeen, SCO). Arkhipov went on to lose 6-4 against Jiri Snitil (Prague, CZE). Arkhipov responded with a 12-6 win over Ritvars Gulbis (Riga, LAT) in their final qualifying round match.

Arkhipov earned 10.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 54 spots the World Ranking Standings into 82nd place overall with 17.230 total points. Arkhipov ranks 55th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 12.500 points earned so far this season.
