Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) won 8-3 over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) in the Final of the Home Hardware Canada Cup of Curling, held December 3 - 7, 2014 in Camrose, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, McEwen won 5-4 over Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON) in the semifinals of the 2014 Home Hardware Canada Cup of Curling in Camrose, Alberta;
 
McEwen finished 4-2 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McEwen defeated Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) 9-3, then won 8-2 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) and 9-4 against Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC). McEwen went on to lose 4-3 against Howard. McEwen lost 7-5 to Jacobs where McEwen responded with a 7-4 win over John Morris (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Home Hardware Canada Cup of Curling Championship title, McEwen earned 45.000 world rankings points along with the $22,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 454.410 total points. McEwen ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 257.000 points earned so far this season.
