Marie, ON). Cotter lost 9-4 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) where Cotter responded with a 7-2 win over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). Cotter went on to lose 5-4 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). Cotter responded with a 7-4 win over Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Cotter earned 6.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 16th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 122.560 total points. Cotter ranks 64th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 10.975 points earned so far this season.
