9-3 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB), droppimg another game, 10-4 to Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON) where Gushue responded with a 8-6 win over John Morris (Calgary, AB). Gushue won 5-4 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, ON), then won 5-4 against Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC). Gushue went on to lose 10-4 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Gushue earned 9.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 3rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 302.133 total points. Gushue ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 120.000 points earned so far this season.
