Sigurdson finished 4-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sigurdson defeated Mark Lukowich (Winnipeg, MB) 5-4, then won 6-4 against Jared Kolomaya (Winnipeg, MB) and 6-2 against Kevin Brown (Winnipeg, MB). Sigurdson went on to lose 5-4 against Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB). Sigurdson responded with a 4-2 win over Twiss in their final qualifying round match.
