Laycock went on to lose 4-2 against Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK). Laycock responded with a 6-5 win over Drew Heidt (Unity, SK). Laycock won 7-4 against Jacobson in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Sasktel Tankard Championship title, Laycock earned 11.440 world rankings points. Laycock move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 4.055 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 7th overall with 230.765 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
