In their opening game, Calwell defeated Graham Singer (Collingwood, ON) 5-4, then won 10-2 against James Harris (Toronto, ON) and 6-4 against Doug Kee (Ottawa, ON). Calwell went on to lose 8-7 against Matthew Hall (Stroud, ON). Calwell responded with a 9-6 win over Charlie Richard (Woodstock, ON). Calwell won 6-4 against Tyler Twining (Paris, ON), then won 8-2 against Michaud in their final qualifying round match.
