Sturmay went on to lose 6-5 against Tyler Lautner (Calgary, AB). Sturmay responded with a 8-3 win over Dustin Turcotte (Falher, AB). Sturmay won 9-2 against Corey Leach (Lac La Biche, AB), then won 6-5 against Kyler Kleibrink (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
