In their opening game, Maxie lost 8-5 to Tucker Smith (Bismarck, ND), droppimg another game, 8-6 to Paul Pustovar (Seattle, WA) where Maxie responded with a 10-6 win over Greg Eigner (Fort Wayne, IN). Maxie won 8-4 against Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA). Maxie went on to lose 8-4 against Pustovar in their final qualifying round match.

Maxie earned 0.550 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 36 spots the World Ranking Standings into 293rd place overall with 1.300 total points. Maxie ranks 225th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.300 points earned so far this season.
