In their opening game, Lawton defeated Jessica Hanson (Saskatoon, SK) 5-4, then won 8-4 against Wendy Thienes (Shaunavon, SK) and 6-3 against Mandy Selzer (Balgonie, SK). Lawton won 6-3 against Brett Barber (Biggar, SK), then won 6-5 against Trish Paulsen (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Saskatchewan Viterra Scotties Championship title, Lawton earned 11.520 world rankings points.
