Kevin Wunderlin (Biel, SUI) finished 3-3 in the 22-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wunderlin defeated Matthew Mourot (Saskatoon, SK) 4-2, then won 7-6 against Dean Joanisse (New Westminster, BC). Wunderlin went on to lose 8-2 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB). Wunderlin lost 7-5 to Mark Walter (Estevan, SK) where Wunderlin responded with a 10-4 win over Brent Gedak (Estevan, SK). Wunderlin went on to lose 8-1 against Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Wunderlin earned 1.829 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, dropping 3 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 154th place overall with 17.844 total points. Wunderlin ranks 172nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 8.678 points earned so far this season.
