Kris Keating (Kronau, SK) finished 3-3 in the 22-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Keating defeated Shawn Joyce (Saskatoon, SK) 6-1, then went on to lose 7-2 against Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK). Keating lost 7-1 to Shaun Meachem (Saskatoon, SK) where Keating responded with a 5-2 win over James Gordon (Estevan, SK). Keating won 5-4 against Joyce. Keating went on to lose 7-1 against Jason Ackerman (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Keating earned 1.829 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 14 spots the World Ranking Standings into 245th place overall with 6.629 total points. Keating ranks 199th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.629 points earned so far this season.
