In their opening game, Newson defeated Blair Jay (Summerside, PEI) 9-5, then won 8-6 against Tyler Harris (Charlottetown, PEI) and 6-5 against Casey. Newson went on to lose 9-8 against Casey. Newson lost 8-7 to Tyler MacKenzie (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the PEI Tankard, Newson take home 2.500 world rankings points, moving up 20 spots the World Ranking Standings into 112th place overall with 13.550 total points. Newson ranks 207th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.500 points earned so far this season.
