Sigfridsson went on to lose 9-1 against Ostlund. Sigfridsson lost 6-5 to Carlsen where Sigfridsson responded with a 6-5 win over McManus. Sigfridsson won 7-4 against Hasselborg, then won 5-4 against Wrana and 7-2 against Norredahl in their final qualifying round match.
