Tsuruga responded with a 6-5 win over Ryuji Shibatani (Kitami, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Tsuruga earned 2.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Japan Curling Championships, moving up 366 spots the World Ranking Standings into 280th place overall with 2.000 total points.
