Morozumi lost 8-6 to John Shuster (Duluth, USA). Morozumi lost 10-8 to Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) where Morozumi responded with a 9-6 win over Marc Pfister (Bern, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
