Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO) won 8-5 over Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) in the Final of the Edinburgh International, held November 6 - 8, 2015 at the Murrayfield Curling Club in Edinburgh, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Smith won 7-4 over Aku Kauste (Helsinki, FIN) in the semifinals of the 2015 Edinburgh International in Edinburgh, Scotland, Scotland; and won 6-1 over Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) in the quarterfinals.
Smith finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith lost 5-4 to van Dorp, then responded with a 4-1 win over Ritvars Gulbis (Riga, LAT). Smith won 7-1 against Kalle Kiiskinen (Hyvinkaa, FIN), then won 5-2 against Cameron Bryce (Edinburgh, SCO) and 5-1 against Felix Schulze (Hamburg, GER) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Edinburgh International Championship title, Smith earned 26.447 world rankings points along with the $8,008CDN first prize cheque, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 23rd place overall with 155.048 total points. Smith ranks 14th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 102.329 points earned so far this season.
