Peterson finished 3-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Peterson defeated Joelle Brown (Winnipeg, MB) 6-3, then won 7-5 against Lisa Menard (Dauphin, MB) and 8-2 against Jackie Dewar (Winnipeg, MB). Peterson went on to lose 6-4 against Barb Spencer (Winnipeg , MB) in their final qualifying round match.
